My Holiday Week!

Between family dinners, wrapping gifts, last minute details for Drake Men, plus getting over a sickness while nursing my husband back to health...he caught my cold. Yikes! I am stopping by to share some of my holiday. It was so great seeing family members that I haven't seen, well since last Christmas. Besides forgetting my camera on Christmas Eve I only have photos from Christmas morning.
But before we get to those here is a little sneak peak of what I was up to the days before Christmas weekend...

Car rides with my awesome nephew-photo time!

Some last minute shopping while rocking my fingerless gloves

The hubs and our annual Christmas dinner. My dad started this tradition when my sister and I were babies. Every year, the week of Christmas, we would all put on our finest ensembles and go out to a fancy restaurant while we sip on, virgin,Strawberry Daiquiris and amazing food. This year the hubs and I didn't go to the fanciest restaurant but I did order my drink...non-virgin of course! We love this tradition and I am so glad that my hubs wants to continue it with our children.

Continuing with tradition-After our annual dinner my dad would take us to various neighborhoods in Houston that were known for the Christmas lights. This year my hubs took us to River Oaks, the ultra swanky, neighborhood and we were NOT disappointed! This house must of had eight trees that lined the street that they decorated so beautifully.

Chandelier trees are my favorite...especially when done right!

This house was awesome. We couldn't figure out why so many cars were stopped in front of it. When we turned the corner we saw what everyone else was wanting to see...Santa! It was so nice and of course my hubs was talking about how this is something that we should do when we get a house like this. It's good to have goals!Ha-Ha.

Christmas Morning...

The after math...

I hope your holiday weekend was fabulous!

It's All In The Details...

From our wardrobe to the parties we throw. The details is what pulls everything together for that special 'pop' we are all looking for.

{Holiday} Hair Envy...

Up, down, curly, straight, ponytail...so many choices?! Besides the fact that, us women, spend several minutes, probably, just staring at our clothes trying to put an outfit together...hair becomes a whole other issue. Christmas Eve this year is being hosted by my sister at her and her husbands house. Lets just say that I am feeling that the night will be full of ping pong tournaments, taboo games, and a few rounds of pool.

I experienced this last year at Thanksgiving and lets just say I was not prepared, hair wise. After a few hours of playing numerous games everyone starts getting 'hot'. For girls that means that its time to get out your hair band and get it up into a bun or ponytail! Well, this year, the hubs and I, will be making an appearance at his families house later in the evening. I would like to not have to go with messy, ponytail hair and a flushed face. Ideally I would love to look like I just got ready.Ha-Ha. What is a girl to do?! Well, other than the fact that I will be wearing black jeans and some form of a blazer I have selected these hairstyles to complete my outfit. Hopefully they will complete my outfit, not get me so 'hot', and possibly give me an edge against the other women who will, foolishly, have their hair in their face when it comes time for the ping pong tournament! He-He.

Holiday Rush

Last minute Christmas shopping, prepping for family dinners, and trying to look gorgeous in this not so great {Houston} weather is what I like to call the holiday rush. My husband and I, sad to say, are known for being just a few minutes late. I couldn't tell you what it is. We usually have everything laid out that we need to take with us, what we are wearing, but when it comes time to actually walk out the door...the panic/rush starts setting in with the end result being my sister call me asking "where are you guys"?

This year, I am happy to say, is very different so far. I have all of my Christmas shopping and wrapping completed laying under our tree. I know exactly what I am making for Christmas Eve dinner. I almost know what I will be wearing...there is still time for that.Ha-Ha. Last night while I was contemplating about my Friday post I was going through photos and found several that describe the 'holiday rush'...

Need I say more? Coffee, fabulous purse, chaotic, and shopping.

Christmas isn't the same with out the hubs and I 'rushing' to get
somewhere, lovely tablescapes, and such cute dogs (my sister's department)!

Finish it up with a relaxing trip to a quite coffee shop...

Then it all starts over again the next day! He-He.

MIA No More!

No one panic I am back from being MIA. Sunday I started feeling a little under the weather and come Monday morning I was full blown sick. My life consisted of sleeping, medicine, hot green tea, and old Friends episodes. I am not one that deals well with staying inside 24/7, so I have been itching to get rid of this cold for the last day or so!

I will be back Friday!
